我们学过的质数大多为奇数，只有一个质数2例外。2是质数中最小的一个，而且2是唯一的偶质数。因为其它大于2的偶数，除了有1和该数本身两个因数外，至少还有一个因数2，这样的数都是合数。

我们知道一个奇数与一个偶数的和一定是奇数。如果两个质数和为奇数，必有一个是偶质数，而2是唯一的偶质数。所以两个质数的和为奇数，必有一个为２.知道这一结论对我们解数学题是有帮助的。例如：

若两个质数的和为９９，求这两个质数的积。

因为９９为奇数，所以两个质数必定一奇一偶，而且其中的一个质数是２，另一个质数就是99-2＝97，所求的两个质数的积为97×2＝194.
